Dealing with Fire; Fire Marshal
A fire marshal; better understood as a fire investigator is the one who must explore, determine and document the origin of fire. He is an official who is required to establish the human actions behind the setting of catastrophic fire, finally bringing the authoritative testimony to the bench and win the place of arson.

Fire marshal is required to be a zealot, have a zest to figure out things, collect evidence, follow up investigation and put the convict behind the bars. A roll of a detective, a scientist, a law enforcer, an engeneer, is all embodied in a fire marshal.
An arson investigator and a fire investigator are not to be used inter changeably; although an arson investigator determines the hands behind the fire, a fire investigator has to give an epilogue of the cause and origin of the fire.
The job of a fire marshal is arduous, intriguing. It requires a dexterous and an adept brain. One must have background knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and civil, and chemical engineering. Technical training is required because plays a role in determining a lot of factors in terms of fire behavior and how a fire affected building is looked at.
Not all the fire marshal has law enforcer background but many have. In the New York the fire marshal are very well trained in law on the other hand in Connecticut they are usually members of fire department or under department municipal with some
Level of cognanze about code enforcement, origin and cause but no law enforcement at all.
These are either public or private sector officials. Those of public sector are employed by municipality, fire or federal agencies. The one coming from private sector may be those serving company’s attorney etc.
The career path to become a fire marshal is complex. Once from public sectors have to pass exams with good rank or employees, volunteers within police with some level of training in fire management at the national level. There is a requirement of around eighty certified fire marshal who will take charge of investigation of large fire cases. There is a mandate to undergo a laborious and onerous to two year training in fire investigation.
Those seeking employment in private sector may come from any academic curriculum. Whether engineering, forensic etc. photography will further complement the job. Job opening within investigating firms becomes an entry level to the job of a fire marshal.
Despite the career being a Herculean job, its demand is growing as per Trooper Horgan “the arsonist is becoming more sophisticated so more fires are being setup to fool a fire marshal“. Thus the job is becoming much more challenging, harder, and puts a need for a fire marshal to be very proficient.
